MEDICINE HAT — The trial for a young Southern Alberta man on charges of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint has begun.
Twenty-year-old Jordan Jesse Mellafont, of Medicine Hat, faces charges including sexual assault with a weapon, sexual touching, invitation to touching and uttering death threats.
The alleged crimes took place on April 9, 2011.
A jury was being selected on Monday.
