Alberta premier Jason Kenney has received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The premier was one of several Alberta government officials to receive the shot this week, along with Minister of Health Tyler Shandro and Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw.

“The whole process, from booking online to the clinic, was seamless and convenient. Thanks to AHS staff for their great work,” said the premier in a tweet Thursday.

“Please get vaccinated if you’re eligible to keep yourself and others safe.”

Kenney got his vaccine Thursday, while Hinshaw and Shandro got their dose on Tuesday.

As of Friday, the province has administered 1.27 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and 252,843 Albertans have been fully vaccinated.
