The event is set for Sept. 24

Central Alberta environmental enthusiasts are being encouraged to take part in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

In Red Deer at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre on Sept. 24, Red Deerians are being asked to take part in the fall initiative “to join forces to keep our waterways and shorelines clean and safe by spending the afternoon picking up litter.”

Citizens should arrive between noon and 1 p.m. to get cleanup supplies and their route. At 3 p.m., there will be complimentary refreshments and a prize raffle at the nature centre.
