Red Deer RCMP seized a kilogram of methamphetamine after a month-long investigation.

RCMP said on Mar. 25 and 26, officers executed search warrants at a hotel room, two vehicles and a storage locker, all located in Sylvan Lake. A large quantity of drugs, money and other paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking was found.

In addition to methamphetamine, 20 grams of cocaine was seized, along with $3,878 in cash.

The investigation involved support from Blackfalds and Sylvan Lake RCMP, as well as numerous locations throughout Red Deer, the County of Red Deer and Sylvan Lake.

Darcy Netterfield, 41, was charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Netterfield was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Apr. 1.
