A Saskatoon man is facing charges under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act after firefighters had to douse a grass fire in Kneehill County on Canada Day.
Three Hills RCMP said they got a 911 call about 7:40 p.m. on Saturday of a suspicious man leaving the area of a fire near the Morrin Bridge on Highway 27.
Motorists and farmers in the area helped with the fire control until the Three Hills Fire Department subdued the fire.
Police arrested a suspect at the scene. He was later charged with six offences under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act and an offence under Forest and Prairie Protection Regulations.
A 63-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged.
