Lacombe area man killed in ATV accident near Bentley

A Lacombe area man has been identified as the man killed in a single vehicle ATV accident north of Bentley early Saturday morning.

A Lacombe area man has been identified as the man killed in a single vehicle ATV accident north of Bentley early Saturday morning.

Al Tudhope, 55, of Lacombe County died at the scene despite efforts to save him.

Sylvan Lake RCMP were dispatched at 2:37 a.m. to the scene north of Bentley on RR 12 . Upon arrival officers discovered an ATV on its side in the ditch but could not immediately locate the driver. The severely injured man was found 100 metres away from the ATV. The man had been wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, but it was discovered a short distance away.

Police officers immediately started CPR until EMS and Bentley firefighters arrived on scene to take over. The man was pronounced dead a short time later by EMS.

RCMP continue to investigate.
