Lacombe County dolled out some cash to the regional airport, Lacombe Memorial Centre and other regional projects.
In their March 8 meeting, they approved $64,821.40 in capital funding to projects in Lacombe, Eckville and the Lacombe Regional Airport.
The capital funding for Lacombe was targeted at some of the city’s recreational facilities. The county approved $906.40 for the Lacombe Memorial Centre, $13,195 was approved for the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex’s Aquatic Centre and $3,720 GMAG’s Curling Club. The funding comes from the county’s recreation capital assistance reserve.
Also coming from the county’s recreation capital assistance reserve, $15,000 was approved to the Town of Eckville for upgrades to their community centre.
In addition, council approved $32,000 to the Lacombe Regional Airport’s north taxiway capital project.
