A Lacombe County couple hit the $18.3-million Lotto 6-49 jackpot.

Bradley and Amanda Kelly won the big money in the June 25 lottery draw.

The winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven store in Claresholm. A week later, Bradley Kelly checked his tickets and learned a big windfall coming his way.

He couldn’t believe his luck after scanning the ticket.

“I self-checked it and a bunch of numbers came up. It didn’t seem right. So I went to the retailer and I said, ‘I think the machine is pooched,’ ” Bradley recalled.

But there was no mistake — the ticket was worth $18,397,958.80.

“I was in absolute shock. When I saw all of those numbers, I just started pacing back and forth.”

The couple are still reeling from the win, but look forward to all the possibilities it creates.

“We have many dreams, and probably even more now that we don’t even know of,” Amanda said.

One thing is for certain, they will be taking a trip.

“We never did have a honeymoon, so we should get on that,” Bradley said.
