Lacombe’s Gallery on Main gets new owner

After more than eight years, Laverne Jones has sold the Gallery on Main in Lacombe.

The buyer, who Jones said doesn’t want to be identified yet, takes possession of the art gallery on July 1. Though, Jones said the new owner is local and has been involved in the art industry for a number of years.

For Jones, it is bittersweet. She took ownership of the gallery in semi-retirement and is now stepping back into full retirement.

“I’m letting go of something I’ve worked a lot of years for,” she said, adding she will miss the interactions with regular clients, artists and the public.

The gallery is located at 5250 B 45th St. in Lacombe.
