Lethbridge Police are looking into the sudden death of an infant.
During the early hours Tuesday, police received a request from the Medical Examiner’s Office to attent Chinook Regional Hospital and investigate the death of a six-month-old boy.
Early investigation determined the infant was placed on a bed earlier in the evening to sleep.
After a while, the father checked on the baby and found he was not breathing.
The mother called 911 and CPR was performed by the parents until the Emergency Medical Services arrived.
The infant was transported to Chinook hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation continues.
An autopsy has been ordered. Results are pending.
