Teflon Jim has finally made a mistake. By stating that we as Albertans have collectively benefited from the oil-revenue-driven Progressive Conservative budget (and pointed out that the provincial employees have been at the front of the gravy train), he has opened up Pandora’s box for the next round of attacks from the opposing parties.
Of course, ridiculous rhetoric from Rachel Notley will do nothing to further her cause, but grasping at straws is all the opposition parties have in the face of the PC juggernaut.
Premier Jim Prentice’s candor has kept him in good stead, but this time staying quiet would have been the wise choice.
Now we will endure another round of overblown news articles, when everyone knows that the PCs will be re-elected anyways.
Let’s get the election over, so we can all begin to feel the pain of the new budget, which the PCs will say was mandated by their re-election.
