Just before the skies opened up with a deluge of rain and a thunderous lightning storm, participants of the Lighting Up Bower Ponds event Wednesday began tossing LED illuminated lilies onto the surface of the pond. Catholic Social Services in Red Deer hosted the event as a way to celebrate and say Thank-You to the community for supporting Catholic Social Services over the years. The event featured food trucks and live entertainment including Red Deer’s St. James’ Gate.
