A Border Paving trackhoe excavates north of the Red Deer College Arts Centre near the Bethany Collegeside building on 32nd Street at 57th Avenue. The work will alter college traffic access by replacing College Boulevard with a one-way road in aligned with 57th Avenue and a one-way out access aligned to match up with 55th Avenue with traffic lights at both intersections. Other improvements for the project expected to take until October to finish include lane widening, new crosswalks, upgrading the 32nd Street sidewalk to a three-metre-wide asphalt trail, tree planting and improved street lighting.
