Lowe’s in Red Deer was not among the six Alberta stores that will be closing early next year.
On Wednesday, Lowe’s Canada said following a strategic review of operations, 34 underperforming stores in Canada will close. They include 26 RONAs, six Lowe’s, and two Reno-Depots.
Alberta stores slated for closure include two in Calgary, and one each in Edmonton, Airdrie, St. Albert and Sherwood Park.
Lowe’s, a home improvement and hardware store, opened its store in Red Deer in 2018, with 128 permanent positions in additional to seasonal positions.
