Two occupants of a stolen vehicle near Whispering Pines Golf and Country Club Resort were arrested.

On Feb. 15, a rural area resident saw a “suspicious” vehicle stuck in a ditch near the golf course, and called the Innisfail RCMP.

The police attempted to stop the vehicle, which was on the go at the time.

The vehicle failed to pull over, but lost control after hitting a tire deflation device. A man, 25, of Red Deer and a woman, 22, of Leduc County were arrested.

The duo is charged with possession of stolen property under and over $5,000, and possession and improper storage of a prohibited weapon.

The man is also charged with failing to stop for the police and dangerous driving.

Additionally, the woman is charged with possession of a rifle with an altered serial number.
