A 44-year-old man with a stolen truck tried to run away from police before being caught on Tuesday.
Red Deer RCMP say at about 1:09 p.m., officers located a truck reported stolen from Sylvan Lake on Monday evening.
When officers located and approached the vehicle, the lone occupant fled on foot and was arrested without incident following a brief chase.
The suspect was charged with possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000, resisting arrest, breach of recognizance. He also had outstanding warrants for failing to comply with a recognizance and failing to attend court.
The suspect remains in custody and is set to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Thursday.
