Man charged: Police receive tip on possible location of $50K in stolen property in central Alberta

Ponoka RCMP received a tip on the possible location of nearly $50,000 of stolen property on a rural property west of Ponoka on June 11.

Ponoka RCMP received a tip on the possible location of nearly $50,000 of stolen property on a rural property west of Ponoka on June 11.

Ponoka RCMP attended the property and were able to see a stolen utility wagon from the road. RCMP approached the residence and immediately arrested a man for possession of stolen property.

A search warrant was executed June 12 on the rural property where the following stolen items were recovered:

• 4x6 utility wagon

• 2016 Kawasaki motorbike with trailer

• Portable gas generators (x2)

• 2008 Ford F350 truck

• 1999 Mustang goose neck trailer

• 2011 Blazer ORBL enclosed trailer

• 2006 Suzuki ATV

• John Deere ride on mower

• Various tools and jerry cans

Michael Richter, 42, of Ponoka County, is charged with five counts of possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000.

Richter has been released on conditions and will make his first court appearance at Ponoka Provincial Court on July 2.
