Man charged with second-degree murder in Red Deer

Police have arrested and charged a 20-year-old man following a homicide about a month and a half ago.

On Sunday, the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit announced Tyreece Evans-Goodrunning was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of a 24-year-old man in Red Deer this past October.

In the early morning hours of Oct. 13, Red Deer RCMP received a report of an unconscious man in the area of 58 Avenue and 61 Street. Upon arrival, EMS transported the victim, Brandon Robert Loughlin, to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Evans-Goodrunning’s next court appearance is set for Dec. 5 at Red Deer Provincial Court.

Police say no additional suspects are being sought.
