A man has died after his truck rolled east of Penhold on Thursday evening.

RCMP attended to the scene of a reported single-vehicle rollover collision on Hwy 42, near Township Road 370, at about 8 p.m.

Witnesses came upon the collision scene just after it happened.

The truck was being driven westbound on Hwy 42 when it lost control, entering the ditch to the north side, then exiting and crossing the highway and rolling into the south ditch.

The driver, the lone occupant, was trapped in his dark grey 2008 GMC Sierra. He was extricated by fire and ambulance personnel and taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
