A 37-year-old Newbrook man was sentenced to one year in jail after pleading guilty to a string of business break-ins in Coronation and Castor.

Coronation RCMP said on April 12, 2017 the businesses were primarily targeted for cigarettes and lottery tickets and they sustained significant damage during the break-in.

The police investigation included DNA evidence that led to charges against David James Stewart.

Stewart pleaded guilty to three counts of break and enter in buildings that were not dwelling houses in Coronation provincial court on March 9. He also had to pay $2,854 in restitution.
