Red Deer City RCMP are seeking a male suspect after a man was robbed of his backpack in the Village Mall parking lot on Tuesday.
The victim was approached from behind by the suspect at about 4:20 p.m. He demanded valuables and money, then grabbed the victim’s backpack.
This resulted in a struggle — until the victim let go and the suspect fled southbound on foot with the stolen backpack, which contained personal property.
The male suspect is described as being between 45 and 50 years old, 178 to 182 cm tall (between five-foot-10 or five-foot-eleven), of slim build, with greying brown hair, a moustache, blue jeans and a dirty coat.
