Man shows up at Red Deer hospital with gunshot wound

Police are still trying to figure out where a shooting occurred that left a man injured in Red Deer on Friday.

Red Deer RCMP are looking into an incident where a man was wounded in a shooting on Friday evening.

Police were called at about 11:30 p.m. after the man, age 36, had gone to Red Deer Regional Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He had been shot in the abdomen with buckshot pellets.

RCMP said they have conducted multiple interviews with the victim, who was conscious and lucid, and also a witness.

Police have not yet determined the location of the shooting and do not have descriptions of suspects at this time. They continue to investigate and do not believe the incident was random.
