Man who allegedly threatened to shoot police arrested in Gasoline Alley

Red Deer RCMP arrested a man who had allegedly threatened to shoot police outside the Gasoline Alley Costco on Wednesday.

Calgary police alerted Red Deer RCMP that they were following a driver accused of being unlawfully at large and who had allegedly threatened police. He was driving a vehicle believed to have been stolen in Stettler.

Red Deer RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team located the vehicle in the Costco parking and the suspect was caught as he tried to enter the store.

A 66-year-old man was arrested without incident and remains in custody.

Calgary Police are still investigating the incident to determine if additional charges are warranted.
