OAKBANK, Man. — A 15-year-old boy was killed on the weekend when his dirt bike and a train collided east of Winnipeg.

The crash happened on Sunday where a mud road crosses a set of rail tracks just outside the community of Oakbank.

Jeff Hudson, fire chief for the Rural Municipality of Springfield, says it’s not known what led to the crash.

Hudson says the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

An RCMP traffic analyst has been called in to investigate.
