The death of a man whose body was found in downtown Red Deer is not suspicious.

The death of a man whose body was found in downtown Red Deer is not suspicious.

An autopsy was performed on Monday by the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office. It was determined that the circumstances of the death were not suspicious or criminal in nature.

Red Deer City RCMP were called to the 4300 block of 49th Avenue on Saturday after receiving a report of an adult male on the ground.

Police found the 53-year-old man and EMS personnel confirmed that he was deceased. RCMP Major Crimes Unit — South was called in to help with the investigation.

Police have identified the man and his next of kin have been notified. No other information is being released.
