Enjoy the warm weather while it’s still here because that may change later this week.

Amanda Prysizney, decision support meteorologist in Winnipeg with Environment and Climate Change Canada, said from Thursday to Saturday night, Central Alberta will get another snow storm.

She said Central Albertans can expect 10 to 20 centimetres of snow during those days.

The snow event will start in Elbow Valley and spread across the province.

“We’re very much in winter so it’s another winter storm bringing snow,” she said.

While March is kicking off with snow, February brought us cold with average temperatures of about -17 C.

Prysizney said the average temperature for February according to Environment Canada’s data base is about -10 C.

“There were days above zero but there were significant periods of cold (in February) so that brought down the temperature to overall below average,” she said.

The coldest overnight low recorded in February in Red Deer was 35.3 C on Feb. 9.
