The Mac’s Convenience Store in the 6800 block of Gaetz Avenue was held up by a lone male aged about 50, Cpl. Kathe DeHeer of city RCMP said on Monday.

The 1 a.m. incident saw a man enter the store with his face covered. He brandished a knife at the clerk and demanded cash.

The man fled west on a bicycle after the store employee told him there was no money.

The suspect is described as being about 1.73 to 1.78 metres (five feet eight inches to five feet 10 inches) and weighs about 113 kg (250 pounds).

He had a moustache, wore corrective glasses and was dressed in dark baggy jeans or sweat pants and a long-sleeved black shirt with a blue T-shirt with a logo on the breast. He also had on black gloves.

Police request the public’s help in locating the suspect and can phone 403-340-5575 or 1-800-222-8477.
