Maskwacis RCMP investigating Samson Cree Nation shooting seek public help

Maskwacis RCMP are asking for the public’s help in an investigation into a May 18 shooting at Samson Cree Nation.

Police said they were called to the Enclaves area of Samson townsite about 11 p.m. on May 18 with a report of a shooting.

A woman was shot and wounded by a suspect who fled the scene before RCMP arrived. The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Maskwacis RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) has taken over the investigation and is asking for the public’s help. Police are asking residents, especially those who were in the Enclaves area on May 18 between 10:00-11:30 p.m., to report any suspicious activity they may have seen.

Police ask anyone who lives in the area to check any video doorbell cameras or surveillance cameras.
