Volunteers were helping out at McHappy Day in Red Deer on Wednesday to raise money for Ronald McDonald Houses.

Jocelyn and Adam Sia, and their children Charlotte, Kennedy and Stella, handed out stickers to customers at the McDonald’s restaurant at 2502 50th Ave.

The Sylvan Lake family stayed at Ronald McDonald House in Red Deer when their twins Charlotte and Stella were born three years ago. The family spent 23 nights at the facility while their twins were in the neonatal intensive care unit.

On McHappy Day, $1 is donated for every Big Mac, Happy Meal, or hot McCafe beverage purchased across Canada.
