Michener Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance from Aug. 22 to Sept. 6.
Maintenance shutdown allows staff an opportunity to conduct a thorough inspection and perform maintenance on all equipment and technical systems in the facility.
Scheduled and drop-in activities will resume Sept. 7.
G.H. Dawe Community Centre will also remain closed until Sept. 7. The facility was originally scheduled to open Sept. 1, but an additional week is needed to complete demolition work and other internal construction as part of the G.H. Dawe Community Centre Project.
The facility is expected to open on Sept. 8, with all amenities available, with the exception of playing surfaces in the arena. These areas will not be available until construction is complete, which is expected to be early 2023.
