Part of 43rd Street, near Rotary Park, has been closed because of flooding.

The route is closed between 49th and 48th avenues because Waskasoo Creek has overflowed its banks.

Also closed because of flooding is 20th Avenue, from 39th to 55th streets, including the path.

Barricades have been installed and detours are in place for motorists.

Residents are asked to obey all posted signs and trail users are asked to use caution in the area. City crews are monitoring creek levels, which are expected to return to normal in a few days.

With recent warmer temperatures, the city is reminding all residents that ice conditions at community ponds, creeks and the Red Deer River can be hazardous and people should exercise caution.
