Missing senior found safe

Bashaw RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 85-year-old woman from Calgary.

UPDATE: An 85-year-old woman reported missing from Bashaw Valley Lodge since Tuesday has been found.

RCMP reported early Wednesday evening that Marie Abutal had been found safe near Bashaw.

She had left the lodge about 9 a.m. on Tuesday and had not been seen since.

Police thank the general public and other agencies for their assistance in finding Abutal.

Bashaw RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 85-year-old woman from Calgary.

Maria Abutal left the Bashaw Valley Lodge located in Bashaw at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and hasn’t been heard from since.

Abutal is described as Philippine, under five feet tall, skinny, with white shoulder length hair and was last seen wearing a black coat, black pants, black ballet flats and a black winter toque. Abutal also wears black framed reading glasses.Sheleft the Lodge on foot and has a hard time conversing in English.

Police are concerned for Maria’s well-being and are searching for her on behalf of the Bashaw Valley Lodge.

Anyone with information in regards to her whereabouts are asked to contact their local police agency.
