A mobile home is completely damaged after an early morning fire on Sunday.

Ponoka County Regional firefighters were called to a mobile home fire around 3:30 a.m., about 16 kilometres east of Ponoka, on Highway 53.

Dennis Jones, Ponoka County Regional fire chief, said when the firefighters got there, the mobile home was already engulfed in flames.

Jones said confirmed no one was injured in the fire.

As the mobile home was being remodelled, no one lived on the property.

Jones said the structure fire is still under investigation but initial investigation indicates the fire was accidental.

The property was next to a quonset and a gas line but there was no further damage.

The cold temperatures made it hard for about a dozen firefighters to get to the property but they didn’t have any issues keeping the water running. The crews were out there until about 6:30 a.m.

The mobile home is a complete write off. Jones wasn’t sure if the property was insured.
