Motion Fitness is opening a facility in Bower Place mall this summer.
Bower Place announced on Tuesday that Motion Fitness will open a 24,000-square-foot fitness facility. It will the company’s second location in Red Deer. The other is located at 500 Timberlands Drive.
The facility will be located on the ground floor of the former Sears site and will have access from inside and outside.
Bower Place marketing manager Adwoa Obrenu-Yamoah said the fitness facility will take up a portion of the space and plans are in the works for the remaining area.
“We and our leasing team have really been working hard on figuring out how to utilize that space properly and we’re really excited about what is to come,” she said.
Bower Place expects to announce some other new tenants in coming weeks.
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of our second location at Bower Place,” says Motion Fitness chief operating officer Hussain Akbar in a statement.
“The prime and convenient location offers great efficiencies for our members with the ability to shop, pick up groceries, or got a dental appointment before or after a workout.”
Motion Fitness has already set up a sales and information centre located near Hudson’s Bay interior mall entrance.
The fitness facility will have a full range of exercise machines and equipment while offering personal training services, group fitness classes, red light therapy, tanning solutions, massage chairs, child care and other services.
Sears Canada closed its Red Deer location in September 2017.
