CALGARY — The search is on for at least one suspect after a man was shot dead on a Calgary street.

The shooting happened overnight in a northeast neighbourhood, where investigators say a man approached a group of people at an intersection and opened fire.

The victim was found next to a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There’s no word from police on the number of shots fired or the motive for the violence.

About 15 minutes after the shooting, officers stopped a vehicle at a separate location and used a Taser electronic stun gun to subdue one of the occupants.

There is no word on whether the two incidents are connected.
