UPDATED: Motorcycle and truck collide east of Innisfail

Two die in collision

A motorcycle driver and his female passenger were killed in a collision with a truck east of Innisfail on Saturday afternoon.

Innisfail RCMP said at about 3:50 p.m. an eastbound truck on Hwy 590 was attempting to turn north on Rural Road 260 when a collision occurred with a westbound motorcycle.

The 35-year-old motorcycle driver and his 34-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Traffic was re-routed around the collision area for several hours.

Innisfail RCMP and a RCMP collision analyst continue to investigate.
