A motorcyclist had to be rescued from beneath a semi-trailer truck after a collision west of Rimbey on Thursday evening.

A 22-year-old man was in stable condition when transported by air ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton.

The tanker left the road and entered the ditch, trapping the injured male motorcyclist under the front end of the truck.

At 5:30 p.m. Rimbey RCMP and Rimbey Emergency Services were called to a scene on Hwy 53 about four km west of Rimbey.

The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Rimbey hospital with unknown injuries and later airlifted by STARS to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton.
