Murder charge laid in connection with death of Maskwacis man

23-year-old man found dead outside Montana First Nation residence

A Ponoka man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a death in Maskwacis on Tuesday.

Maskwacis RCMP were called to a report of a badly injured man at about 10:50 p.m. on the Montana First Nation. Joshua Denney, 23, was found dead outside a residence.

The death was deemed suspicious.

Dylon Samuel Saddleback, 19, of Ponoka, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Saddleback appeared in court on Thursday and is scheduled to return to Wetaskiwin provincial

court on Aug. 20.
