Community groups can apply for some new grant funding in 2023 from the City of Red Deer.
The Recreation & Sport Development Fund will provide up to $150,000 annually in two submission categories: Inclusion in Local Sport, and Sport Leadership Capacity Building. Qualifying organizations are welcome to apply for one or both categories to support recreation and sport development in Red Deer.
Also the Environmental Initiatives Grant will provide up to $10,000 per application to support community-led projects that support the vision and goals of The City’s Environmental Master Plan. In 2023, there is a total of $50,000 available for these initiatives.
“We are thrilled to be offering these new grant opportunities to further support the health and wellness of Red Deerians. Empowering our local non-profit organizations to carry out their unique and innovative ideas is an important part of our work,” stated Kristin Walsh, Manager of Safe & Healthy Communities.
The application deadline for the Environmental Initiatives Grant is April 28 at 4 p.m.
Applicants have until April 21 to apply for funding in the Sport Leadership Capacity category, while applications are open year-round for the Inclusion in Local Sport category.
The launch of these new funding opportunities is powered by a new online application process designed to streamline the process for applicants. For more information on available grants, application guides and resources, visit reddeer.ca/grants.
