The City of Red Deer has increased its utility fees.
Beginning March 1, the average household will experience an increase of approximately $2.60 per month, or about 2.4 per cent, on their utility bill.
Residents will see the higher rates reflected on their April utility bills.
Utility rates for water and wastewater are comprised of both a fixed and a variable use charge, which offers residents some ability to control their bills by limiting water use.
Waste collection fees are dependent on the type of household and service levels provided.
Fees for regional water and wastewater customers and disposal fees at the waste management facility will also change effective March 1, says the city.
