The first-annual New Year’s Eve Family Gala to benefit the Canadian Mental Health Association of Central Alberta will be held Saturday, Dec. 31, in Red Deer.

Everyone is invited to don their fancy attire and “experience the traditional New Year’s festivities in style with a countdown and streamer drop without having to stay awake until midnight.”

The balloons and streamers will drop early — at 9:30 p.m.— at the Millennium Centre, 4909-49th St.

The party starts at 6 p.m., with a D. J., music, family photos, an ice-cream sundae bar, as well as crafts, a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, “giant games” and more.

Tickets, including a two adult/two child family pack, are available from eventbrite.ca.
