The three 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship pre-tournament games in Red Deer will go ahead as scheduled without reduced capacity.

With 50 per cent capacity limits on venues with over 1,000 people set to go into place on December 24, Westerner Park explained that fans can still attend the two pre-tournament games as planned on Thursday.

“Thursday games are going ahead as planned including food & beverage services. The new restrictions do not come into effect until Dec. 24th so if you had Canada pre-competition games, these will be refunded but you can still attend Dec. 23rd games for free,” the organization said in a Facebook post.

Fans who purchased tickets for the Dec. 19 Canada game who be allowed to attend the Dec. 23 game, when Slovakia takes on Germany at 2 p.m. Fans who had tickets for the Dec. 20 Canada pre-tournament game will be allowed access to the Dec. 23 Austria vs. Sweden game at 7 p.m.

They advised fans that only credit or debit cards will be accepted, not cash.

Czechia will also play Switzerland at 5 p.m. on Dec. 23 at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. Tickets will be $10 per person.
