Update: Northbound Highway 2 lanes reopened near Bowden after semi crash site cleared

Traffic had been detoured to Highway 2A for several hours

The northbound lanes of Highway 2 reopened just before noon at Highway 587 after a semi-tractor crash was cleaned up.

The RCMP were dispatched to Highway 2, east of Bowden, at 5:50 a.m. after a semi-tractor ended up in the centre median.

Bowden Fire Department EMS and highway contractors Main Roads were also dispatched to the scene.

The driver of the semi-tractor was not injured and was issued a violation ticket for failing to maintain the center of lane under the Traffic Safety Act.

Traffic was re-routed for several hours northbound on to Highway 2A at Highway 587.
