Olds College adds new business program for international students

Olds College has teamed up with the Town of Drayton Valley and Everest Educational Services Inc. (Everest) to provide a new program for international students.

Olds College has teamed up with the Town of Drayton Valley and Everest Educational Services Inc. (Everest) to provide a new program for international students.

The program, based out of Drayton Valley is designed to provide opportunities for international students to study business management. Olds College instructors will teach the College’s Business Management Certificate in Drayton Valley to international students recruited to the program through Everest.

“We’re so thrilled to welcome Olds College to our community to offer the Business Management Certificate program,” said Mayor Nancy Dodds. “This partnership is an important piece of the education model we’re building in Drayton Valley, and I know this program will appeal to a wide range of students!”

The first intake of up to 30 international students will begin the program in fall 2022. International student recruitment has already begun through Everest. Spaces for local students will also be available.

“We are pleased to be able to partner with the Town of Drayton Valley and Everest Educational Services Inc. to expand our program offerings,” comments Dalin Bullock, Dean, School of Life Science and Business, Olds College.

“Our business programs provide students with foundational business concepts to prepare them for a rewarding career. Students who complete the certificate are also eligible to continue their studies in the Business Management Diploma program.”

The Town of Drayton Valley will work with Everest to provide students with housing options, transportation to and from campus, and other student support services. In addition, the Town of Drayton Valley will also help students get accustomed to local amenities, as well as find volunteer opportunities and local employment opportunities.
