Olds College will host a free live-streamed agriculture event next month.

The event on April 9 from 7-9 p.m. will be ‘a celebration of ag,’ said the college, adding that it will show the importance of agriculture in our world.

“From field to fork, and all the producers and businesses in between that support our food supply chain, agriculture plays a vital role in the economic success of Alberta,” said Stuart Cullum, president at Olds College.

“We are looking forward to celebrating our vibrant ag industry in Alberta, sharing information about the Olds College Smart Farm and our hands-on, high-tech learning experiences, and celebrating the many partners who contribute to the success of Olds College.”

The online event will include a performance by Alberta-born country star Corb Lund, as well as a showcase of the college’s hands-on program offering and student experience, celebrate industry partners, and as always, help to bring awareness and raise funds for student bursaries.

The live-streamed event is a replacement for the college’s annual fundraiser, Homestead Feast, which was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
