Dustin Piper, 25, was arrested by Airdrie RCMP investigating the death of a man reported missing by a co-worker.

Police were called when Garland Curtis, 40, did not show up for work. Police found his body while checking his home in Airdrie.

Piper remains in custody pending the outcome of a preliminary hearing that has yet to be scheduled. A hearing had been set for June 20, but did not go ahead.

Preliminary hearings may be requested to test the strength of the Crown’s case against an accused person.
