Olds RCMP is looking to identify two people of interest who may be connected to a drive-by shooting.

Police say the suspect and victim vehicles were driving northbound along the QEII’s right lane between Didsbury and Olds at about 7 p.m. on May 11.

The suspect vehicle accelerated to overtake the victim’s vehicle and pulled alongside them in the left lane.

While the vehicles were beside each other, a firearm was pointed from the suspect vehicle at the victim and multiple rounds were fired at the victim’s vehicle, according to RCMP.

“The suspect vehicle is described as possibly dark in colour having two doors,” RCMP said Sunday.

The male person of interest, who was driving, is described as Caucasian and in his mid- to late-30s. He had a short black beard and was wearing a black baseball cap.

The female passenger is described as having dark hair. The vehicle is a grey or black two-door sports car.

With the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Services, evidence has been recovered from the victim’s vehicle.

Olds RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed this occurrence or has information that could assist police with this investigation.

Police are also requesting dashboard camera footage from anyone traveling northbound on the QEII between Highway 582 and Highway 27 on May 11 between 6 and 8 p.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Olds RCMP at 403-556-3323. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app.
