Olds residents charged with identity theft

Two Olds residents have been charged with identity theft after a vehicle was purchased using another person’s identification.

An Olds man told police someone had used his personal information to apply for car loans, credit cards and phone plans. It was determined a vehicle had also been fraudulently purchased.

A search warrant was executed by Olds RCMP at a hotel where the suspect lived on April 26. Police seized several items related to identification theft, fraud and counterfeiting.

Morgan Stephen Winter, 45, has been charged with using a forged document, identity theft and trafficking in property obtained by crime.

A warrant has been issued for Winter’s arrest.

Starr Audrey Bowman, 31, has been charged with identity theft and trafficking in property obtained by crime.

Bowman is scheduled to appear in Didsbury provincial court on May 27.
