Optometrists are urging Red Deerians to seek urgent care if they are experiencing concerns related to eye health or sudden changes in vision.
Left untreated, common conditions can lead to serious problems, they say.
Throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, optometrists across Alberta remain available for medically necessary appointments. Urgent care covers dry eyes, eye infections, eye injuries, foreign objects in the eye and sudden changes or loss of vision.
The rise in home projects and outdoor activities has led to an increase in the number of urgent care services provided by optometrists.
The Alberta Association of Optometrists stresses that optometrists should be a go-to resource for people with vision or eye health concerns.
