The Innisfail RCMP made a significant seizure of drugs, guns and cash earlier this week.

Police arrested two suspects, Amir Spiridonov, 21, and Alex Thiessen, 19, both of Penhold. The two have been jointly charged with 25 charges in relation to the seizure.

RCMP say that on June 7, they responded to reports of a gunshot being fired in the basement suite of a rental property in Penhold. After an investigation, it was determined the shots were from the upstairs suite and two men were arrested.

After obtaining a search warrant, RCMP found five firearms, two of which were loaded, along with 1,000 rounds of ammunition, two high capacity magazines, and an additional prohibited weapon.

They also seized over $40,00 in cash and located a large amount of illicit drugs, including 885 grams of suspected fentanyl, 193 tabs of suspected LSD, 14 grams of suspected magic mushrooms, and six grams of suspected cocaine. In addition, two kilograms of an unknown white powder has been seized and sent for analysis.

Spiridonov and Thiessen are scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Thursday.
